About Us

Rajiv Gandhi Education Foundation (RGEF) was established by a team of dedicated and forward-looking professionals with the objective of bridging the gap between the growing demand for skilled technological manpower and the availability of qualified human resources. The Foundation has been conducting assessments in various skill sector institutions and awarding certifications while ensuring uncompromising standards of quality and professionalism.

This initiative enabled deserving and needy candidates to obtain quality skill certifications in their chosen sectors through an accessible and reliable system. The efforts of the Foundation have significantly contributed to:

  • Bridging the gap between the demand and supply of skilled technical manpower in various industries.
  • Helping individuals acquire certified skills and competencies for better employment and self-employment opportunities.

Rajiv Gandhi Education Foundation has been a pioneer in imparting free computer education since 1995 across Kerala and the adjoining states. In 1998, the Foundation entered into a collaboration with the Electronic Trade and Technology Corporation (ET&T), Government of India, and conducted computer training programmes through 38 affiliated institutes in Kerala, 13 institutes in Karnataka, and 4 institutes in Tamil Nadu.

Following the closure of ET&T by the Government of India in 2004, the Foundation, affiliated with the Electronics Corporation of India Limited, continued its training programmes in the existing ET&T centres by adopting ECIL-certified courses.

In 2005, RGEF was selected by the Department of Adult Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to establish the Jan Shikshan Sansthan in Ernakulam District, Kerala. Through this initiative, the Foundation has been imparting skill training to illiterate, neo-literate, and economically backward beneficiaries. Every year, around 2,000 beneficiaries are trained and supported in securing employment or self-employment opportunities, enabling them to earn a sustainable livelihood and lead a dignified life.

In 2013, RGEF was selected as an Assessing Body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, to conduct assessments in skill training institutions across the country.

Rajiv Gandhi Education Foundation conducts vocational training programmes through facilitated training institutes across India. The Foundation offers training and certification in the following sectors:
